Haiti Trip Testimony from Jim Spitnale

This was my second missions trip to Haiti and I think this trip has confirmed in me the calling of being more of a servant of the Lord by reaching out to those in need. God provided the opportunity to minister and serve others by doing work at Mission of Hope, as well as sharing the Gospel with people in the villages. I got a chance to hear the testimony of a man named Ed Hughes, who the Lord called out of living a worldly life to start an orphanage in Haiti. After he started the orphanage he almost lost his life after being kidnapped and held for ransom. He lost his right arm after he was shot by his kidnapers. Even though his life was at risk, and he faces the disability of only having one arm, this man returned after his release from his captures to what the Lord had called him to, serving the children who have no one else. God spoke to me thru Ed’s testimony when he said, “Pleasures of the world don’t matter; being God’s servant is what matters”.
