Sometimes I take for granted the promises of God. He has made so many different promises and some how, even when at times, I forget my promises to Him he still comes through. Many times not in my timing, but non the less a perfectly made promise is delivered right at that perfect time. God is always on time, isn't He?
I've been thinking about my faith promise for 2007 and how God, somehow always supplies my promise, made in faith, to support His work around the world. Each year I watch with amazement as he provides and many times I really have to look, but he always does. He is always faithful!
I am starting to believe that the promises I make, in faith, to support missions is more for me and my spiritual growth than it is for the missionaries. If God wanted to provide for those who have left everything for Him, without my help, he certainly could. Why does He choose to involve us? Could it be He wants us to be stretched and challenged to believe in Him for more.
Every year my faith becomes greater and I find myself wondering just what could God want to do through me. How far does he want me to trust him? Could it be He wants me to Trust Him more? I'm sure it is!
This year, in 2008, I want my promise to be made according to what I think God could do through me and not what I can do, there is a very big difference.
Now unto Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to His power at work in us, to Him be Glory in the church by Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever, Amen. Eph 3:20
That sums it all up,doesn't it?

Kids can do Great Things
I was so proud of all of the BCC kids today as I sent off $3200.00 to BGMC (Boys and Girls Missionary Challenge). That makes a total of just under $5000.00 our kids raised for missions this year so far. WOW!!!! Their generosity and yours (as they borrowed from your change drawer, i'm sure) will print literature to help our missionaries spread the love of our heavenly Father around the world!!!!! I've spoken to so many missionaries that say,"We could not do what we do if not for our young people being involved in world missions."
I am once again reminded that God does not care about our size or standing in society. His only concern is our willingness to say yes. He even uses children to accomplish his plans.
Have you said yes today?

Thanksgiving in Haiti

You. You make a difference everyday. You care and you give. Because of your generosity, people around the globe have felt the touch of compassion this year.
To you it's only $50 every month, but to two children it means daily meals, pure water, school supplies, an opportunity to be educated . . . and have a future!
Because of you, 34,000 people in Haiti who had no hope... have been touched by the power of hope.
Tonight in Haiti, the sun sets over thousands of children who will going to bed with a full tummy. Tonight, hundreds of orphans know that they will have breakfast in just a few hours.
Tonight, Laura and I thank God for you.

Global Outreach Must be a Priority!

Many have asked me why missions is so important here at BCC? The reason is because missions is important to God. If we are going to be faithful to "go into all the world and make disciples" we cannot ignore the world or approach missions as if it's optional. That is not the heart of God. Have a church that is "glocal" in missions (Global and local) we continue to keep our hearts and minds on lost people. We don't forget that people need Jesus. From a new church plant in Michigan to the orphans of Haiti to a Bible College in Addis Ababa, Africa to Russia..people need Jesus. If we reach out, and it is a priority it will become a natural by product of our lives as God's people. We will reach out to our friends and family. We will touch them with the compassionate, powerful, unconditional love of God and lead them to him through Christ. Outreach must be the heart beat of every local church, because it is God's!
Blessings

Go

Then Jesus came to them and said, "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age."
